Layland Cigars
Layland Cigars name came from my Middle name; my grandmother’s maiden name. In creating my cigar, I wanted to start with two different blends. The Cos Cob is my CT shade, and the Maduro, I named the Narrow Gauge.
The Cos Cob shade derives from the town of Cos Cob, Connecticut, in which I was born and raised. The Narrow Gauge comes from the historical Narrow Gauge train that winds through the beautiful mountains of Durango and ends up in Silverton Colorado. Layland Cigars is an all Dominican Cigar from the Tamboril region of Dominican Republic. The Cos Cob is a nice creamy, mellow CT shade, My Narrow Gauge is a smooth rich Maduro.
As of Spring 2025 my sungrown cigar; the Animas, will be available in a robusto, and toro size. The Animas, also rolled in Tamboril, has a cameroon wrapper that will satisfy the medium cigar lovers taste.
My dad and I took over the Durango Smoke Shop on July 1, 2009. After many years in the business, I felt it was time to create our own house line. Because there is already a Durango Cigar Company, I had to find a different name while making it relevant to the area in which I have lived in since 1997.
Enjoy my Layland Cigars!
Sincerely,
Courtney Callahan
